Karen joined Nordic Patent Service in September 2012. At Nordic Patent Service Karen handles all kinds of IP paralegal work (mainly within the fields of patent and design) including filing and prosecution of International, European, Danish and Swedish patent and design applications as well as filing of foreign patent and design applications through associates.

Karen worked as an in-house patent administrator from 2001 to 2012 at Novo Nordisk A/S (pharmaceutical industry). Here her responsibilities were among others filing patent applications, communication with foreign IP counsels, data management, participating in setting up procedures, and writing SOPs.

Prior to that, she worked three years in a patent and law firm in Aarhus as a patent paralegal.

EDUCATION

Karen has a master’s degree in French business language (cand.ling.merc.) with English as a secondary language. As part of her education at Aarhus School of Business, she completed studies at the University of Mons, Belgium as well. She is a state-authorized interpreter/translator.
