Leonard assists clients with patent protection. He is involved in several aspects of the patent process, including prosecution and litigation, and has experience with performing patentability assessments, novelty searches, and freedom-to-operate analyses in a wide range of technological fields. He is currently preparing for the European Qualifying Exam.

Leonard has a background in physical science and life science, having studied both chemistry and molecular biology at ETH Zurich. He graduated in chemistry with a thesis on the initiation pathway in chromium-based olefin polymerization catalysts. He later graduated in molecular biology with a thesis on predicting affinity-enhancing mutations in peptide-based drugs. Leonard has experience from academia and industry in the fields of computational and quantum chemistry and catalysis. Prior to joining Nordic Patent Service, he interned with a Zurich-based patent firm and worked as a teaching assistant in physical chemistry and reaction kinetics.

Leonard is passionate about science and technology and much enjoys combining his technical knowledge with the legal framework of intellectual property rights. He is committed to ensuring the best protection of our clients’ IP assets, with a focus on both their technology and business objectives.
